Telangana is all set to mark 10 years of its formation on June 2 with a new state song. Veteran Telugu music composer MM Keeravani, who won an Oscar for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film RRR, has set tune to the poem ‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ written by Ande Sri. The decennial celebration will be marked by tributes to Telangana martyrs, cultural events and fireworks.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will release the state’s official song at Parade Grounds. An invitation to the event has been extended to former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The CM will pay floral tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial at Gun park at 9:30 am. He will then unfurl the national flag at Parade Grounds at 10 am and receive the guard of honour of the police forces. After this, the CM will unveil the state song. Later, AICC leader Sonia Gandhi and the CM will address the gathering, which will be followed by the presentation of awards to high-performing police officers.
After the stage show, a ‘flag walk’ will be held in which 5,000 people will walk carrying the national flag. During this flag walk, the full version of “Jaya Jaya He Telangana” (13:30 minutes) will be played. On the same stage, CM Revanth Reddy will felicitate Telangana poet Ande Sri and music director MM Keeravani. The celebrations will come to an end at 8:50 pm, after a 10-minute long fireworks show on the banks of Hussainsagar Lake.
