CM Kisan Assistance Fund Disbursed: 1.33 Lakh Farmers in Koraput District Benefit.
Koraput, Aug 27: On the occasion of the agricultural festival Nuakhai, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the ‘CM Kisan’ Assistance Fund Disbursement System to provide financial support to cultivators across the state.
According to official data, more than 51 lakh farmers in Odisha have been covered under this initiative for the 2025-26 Rabi season. In Koraput district alone, 1,33,717 farmers have received financial assistance amounting to ₹26.74 crore.
The state-level launch was held in Bhubaneswar, while at the district level, a special function was organized at the Koraput Collectorate.District Magistrate Manoj Satyban Mahajan presided over the programme, with Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha attending as the guest of honour.Chief District Agriculture Officer Gokul Chandra Pradhan coordinated the event along with officials and staff of the Agriculture Department.
Under the CM Kisan scheme, farmers are entitled to ₹4,000 per year in two installments, while landless farmer families will receive ₹12,500 annually in three installments. The scheme primarily benefits small and marginal farmers, landless agricultural households, urban cultivators, and backward tribal communities, providing crucial assistance for seasonal agricultural activities.
Officials described the scheme as a groundbreaking initiative of the state government, aimed at strengthening the rural economy and ensuring sustainable livelihoods for farming families.
