Big Boost for Students of Undivided Koraput district, UGC Recognizes Vikramdev University.

In a major development, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted recognition to Vikramdev University, Jeypore, and included its name in the official list of recognized universities.

A letter confirming the recognition has been issued by the Joint Secretary of UGC to the University Registrar.With this approval, degrees and certificates issued by Vikramdev University will now be valid across the country and abroad.

The recognition has also paved the way for starting PhD courses at the institution.Earlier, the status of the university had been uncertain due to delays in securing 2-F and 12-B status. Concerns were raised that students might face hurdles in higher education, research, and employment opportunities.However, with UGC recognition now in place, such issues will not arise.

Educationists have welcomed the move, saying it will boost the university’s progress and attract students from both within India and overseas.

It may be recalled that a detailed report on the issue was published on March 20, highlighting the challenges in securing 2-F status. Following that, the university authorities expedited the process, obtained state cabinet approval, and submitted the necessary documents to UGC, which has now culminated in official recognition.
