Indian Coast Guard Commissions Fast Patrol Vessel ‘Adamya’ at Paradip

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) commissioned its indigenously built Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) Adamya at Paradip Port, Odisha, marking a significant boost to India’s coastal security architecture.

The state-of-the-art vessel has been designed and developed in India, reflecting the nation’s growing self-reliance in defense and maritime technology. Equipped with advanced navigation systems, high-speed maneuverability, and modern surveillance equipment, Adamya is capable of carrying out a wide range of tasks including maritime surveillance, anti-smuggling operations, search and rescue missions, and protection of fishermen operating along Odisha’s coast.

Senior officials of the Indian Coast Guard and dignitaries from Odisha were present during the commissioning ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, officers highlighted that the addition of Adamya would significantly enhance operational capability along the eastern seaboard, especially in safeguarding the strategically important Odisha coastline, which is dotted with ports, offshore installations, and dense fishing activity.

The induction of FPV Adamya reaffirms the Coast Guard’s commitment to ensuring maritime safety, security, and environmental protection while strengthening India’s resolve towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) in defense manufacturing.
