Humanity in Uniform: BSF Troops Donate Blood on Battalion’s Raising Day.

BSF’s 180 Battalion Organises Blood Donation Camp on Raising Day at Koraput.

A blood donation camp was organised by the 180 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday at its Training Headquarters (THQ) in Koraput, as part of the unit’s Raising Day celebrations. The camp was held at the battalion’s hangar under the supervision of Shri Sanjay Das, Commandant, 180 Bn BSF.

The programme commenced at around 9:30 am with Shri Satyawan Khanchi, DIG, Sector Headquarters (SHQ) BSF Koraput, inaugurating the camp as the chief guest. He formally opened the event by cutting the ribbon and encouraging the troops to participate in the noble cause.

In total, 40 personnel from the 180 Battalion and SHQ Koraput voluntarily donated blood, which included 07 officers, 13 sub-ordinate officers, and 20 other ranks. The contribution underscored the battalion’s commitment not only to border security but also to social responsibility and humanitarian service.

Speaking at the conclusion of the programme, Shri Satyawan Khanchi, DIG, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the donors for their selfless act. He also urged everyone to continue extending support to such life-saving initiatives. “Donate Blood, Save Lives,” he said, reiterating the importance of regular blood donation for the benefit of society.

The camp concluded successfully at around 11:00 am in a cordial atmosphere, spreading the message of compassion, unity, and service to humanity.
