Walking with Nature: Young Interactors Discover Health, Heritage, and Harmony in Koraput

Koraput Hosts ‘Nature, Health & Cultural Heritage Awareness Campaign’ by Interact Club Students and Rotary Club of Jeypore.

Promoting the spirit of environmental awareness, fitness, and cultural pride, the Interact Club of Prakash Vidyalaya, Khariar in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Jeypore Central organized a vibrant “Nature, Health & Cultural Heritage Awareness Campaign” in the picturesque hills of Koraput district.

The event, themed “Trekking in the Mountains,” combined adventure with social learning — inspiring students to connect with nature, value health, and preserve India’s rich cultural heritage. Participants trekked through lush green trails, visited traditional shrines, and interacted with local communities to understand the harmony between culture and the environment that defines rural and tribal Odisha.

The campaign also served as a platform to spread awareness about eco-friendly practices, sustainable living, and the importance of physical well-being through outdoor activities.

Rotary Leadership and Guidance

Members of the Rotary Club of Jeypore Central played a leading role in guiding and mentoring the young Interactors throughout the event.
Those present included President Amar Budhwar, Secretary Narayan Nisonko, Club Director Sivaji Pattnaik, and members Nishan Pattnaik, Gauri Nisonko, and Gopal Maharana.

From the Interact Club of Prakash Vidyalaya, Club Advisor Ramanuja Behera, President Punit Payikati, Secretary Subham Khadenga, Treasurer Sonakshi Pattnaik, and all Interact members enthusiastically participated, making the campaign a memorable success.

Student’sSpeak: Reflections from the Trek

Sharing his experience, Interact Club President Punit Payikati said,

“This trek was more than just a journey through the hills — it was a journey of learning and self-discovery. Walking amidst nature taught us the value of simplicity, teamwork, and respect for our cultural roots. It also reminded us that protecting the environment begins with small steps we take every day.”

He added that the experience strengthened the bond among students and helped them realize their responsibility as young leaders in creating awareness about nature and heritage conservation.

Encouraging Words from Rotary Leaders

Rotary Club President Amar Budhwar praised the enthusiasm of the students, remarking,

“When young minds connect with nature, they not only build strength and discipline but also develop a sense of duty towards society and the planet. This is how true leadership begins.”

A Pledge for a Better Tomorrow

The program concluded with a cleanliness drive and a collective pledge by all participants to protect nature, promote health, and preserve India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
