Launch of The Senior Girls’ Wing of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Malkangiri College.

The Senior Girls’ Wing of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) was officially launched in the Malkangiri college today.

The inauguration was carried out by Additional District Magistrate Somnath Pradhan in the august presence of Principal Prem Rekha Bhotra, Subedar Jagdish prasad Yadav, ANO Sushant Majhi along with teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college.In its first year, 17 students have enrolled in the wing, against the total strength of 50 seats.

Commanding officer 1 Ori infantry NCC jeypore Lt. Col PR Dash highlighted that the initiative offers a golden opportunity for girl students, enabling them to gain valuable training that will open doors to career opportunities in multiple sectors while also preparing them to contribute to nation-building and social service.

Officials further informed that Scheduled Tribe students securing 60% marks will be eligible for PIL ILT training, providing them with advanced avenues for growth.Marking a first in the district, the launch of the Senior Girls’ NCC Wing is expected to play a vital role in empowering young women, nurturing their leadership skills, and shaping them into responsible citizens of tomorrow.
