C.P. Radhakrishnan Sworn in as 15th Vice President of India.

Senior BJP leader C.P. Radhakrishnan today took oath as the 15th Vice President of India. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Members of Parliament and other dignitaries.

Radhakrishnan was elected on September 9 after securing 452 votes against Opposition candidate B. Sudershan Reddy, who polled 300 votes.He won by a margin of 152 votes, with the Election Commission certifying a turnout of about 98% among the electoral college.The election was necessitated following the resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in July due to health concerns.

A two-time MP from Coimbatore and a veteran leader with a long association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Radhakrishnan has also served as the Governor of Jharkhand and Maharashtra.With this, C.P. Radhakrishnan officially assumes the second-highest constitutional office in the country.
