IUC and CATC Camp for NCC Cadets Organised at Model Degree College, Nabarangpur.

Living up to the true spirit of the NCC motto — “Unity and Discipline” — the 15 (O) Battalion NCC, Jeypore successfully conducted its Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) and Inter-Unit Competition (IUC) for the year 2025 at Model Degree College, Nabarangpur.

The camp, which commenced on 27th October 2025 and concluded on 5th November 2025, saw enthusiastic participation from 566 cadets, 10 Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), 02 Girl Cadet Instructors (GCIs), and 20 Permanent Instructional Staff from the Indian Army.

Cadets from Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and other parts of the state including Berhampur, Puri, and Bhubaneswar took part in this 10-day training camp. The aim was to instill discipline, teamwork, and a sense of national responsibility among the young cadets.

The training programme featured a wide range of activities and educational sessions, including guest lectures by experts and dignitaries on crucial topics like physical and mental health, online banking awareness, cyber fraud prevention, and disaster management. A live demonstration by the Nabarangpur Fire Department gave cadets first-hand experience in handling emergency situations during natural calamities.

The camp also organized various competitions — Debate, Quiz, Firing, Essay Writing, and Drawing — to encourage the creative and intellectual development of cadets. The winners were felicitated with certificates and medallions in recognition of their talent and effort.

The closing ceremony, held on November 5, was a vibrant event featuring a cultural programme by the cadets, followed by a Barakhana (community feast) that brought together all participants in a spirit of unity and celebration.

Speaking at the valedictory function, Lt Col Pritiranjan Dash, Commanding Officer, 15 (O) Battalion NCC, Jeypore, expressed pride in the cadets’ enthusiasm and discipline throughout the camp.

“The NCC is not just about drills and uniforms — it’s about character, leadership, and service to the nation,” said Lt Col Dash. “The Combined Annual Training Camp at Nabarangpur has once again shown that our cadets are the torchbearers of responsibility, unity, and integrity. I commend every participant for their dedication and team spirit.”

Lt Col Dash also thanked the college administration, local authorities, and all supporting staff for their cooperation in making the camp a grand success.

The event concluded with the NCC anthem and a renewed commitment by all cadets to uphold the values of discipline, patriotism, and selfless service in their lives ahead.
