A Unique Marketplace with a Mission: Manav Seva Kendra’s Innovative Initiative Draws Jeypore Citizens.

Jeypore: In a unique initiative blending social service with community participation, Manav Seva Kendra (MASK), Jeypore, organised a special exhibition-cum-sale of new and pre-owned household items, attracting citizens from different age groups.

The exhibition, held at Jain Bhawan, NKT Road, was inaugurated by SDPO Archita Mittal, Tehsildar Sabyasachi Jena and BDO Shakti Mohapatra in the presence of members of Manav Seva Kendra.

Unlike a conventional sale, the initiative carried a strong message of sharing, dignity and social responsibility under the theme “One person’s unwanted item can be another person’s treasure.”

Speaking on the occasion, MASK President Sanjay Kumar Jain said the initiative was conceived for people who may hesitate to accept new or pre-owned articles free of cost. To ensure that everyone could purchase useful items with dignity, the organisation kept the prices extremely affordable at ₹10, ₹20, ₹30, ₹50, ₹100 and ₹200.

The exhibition offered a wide variety of items catering to different age groups and household needs. These included books, toys, kitchenware, home décor items, clothes and several other useful household and daily-use articles. From children’s items to products useful for senior citizens and families, the exhibition provided something for almost everyone.

The concept received an overwhelming response from the citizens of Jeypore. People from different age groups visited the exhibition, browsed through the collection and purchased articles while supporting the larger social cause behind the initiative.

What made the exhibition particularly special was its charitable purpose. All proceeds generated from the sale will be donated to the Indian Red Cross Society, ensuring that every purchase made at the exhibition contributes towards humanitarian service and helping those in need.

The initiative also promotes the idea of giving useful items a second life, reducing unnecessary waste while helping another family or individual access products at affordable prices.

The enthusiastic participation of citizens demonstrated that social service need not always involve large donations. Even a small purchase of ₹10 or ₹20 can become part of a larger contribution when an entire community comes together.

The Manav Seva Kendra initiative has therefore emerged as a thoughtful example of “Let’s give, let’s share, let’s care”, combining affordability, sustainability and charity in a simple yet impactful community-driven effort.
