The Jeypore Municipality on Thursday issued a letter against an unauthorized construction at the mainroad of Jeypore.

This came after locals complained that the plot no 984/4103 and 983/2333 owners had illegally built extensions and encroached on common areas, hindering movements within the premises.

According to Municipality officials,the building owner has been granted permission for 45/90 ft but the owner has violated it by constructing 53/100 ft and also as per the rule for commercial building the total area of parking should be of 30% of built of area towards FAR ie 5434 sqft and a minimum 15% of space should be demarcated for two-wheelers parking which is not provided on the ground.

The owner has also violated by constructing a stall in the parking area and the ground floor parking is not available which was mentioned during the plan ie 1384sqft and also the owner has violated by not providing setbacks from all side and also it is seen the transformer should be within the boundary but it is out side the boundary which is strictly a violation.

Executive Officer Sidharth pattnaik said after receiving the complaint from various quarters he had personally visited the site and inspection made by him along with the Amin it has came to notice that the B+4 commercial building constructed in the plot no 984/4103 and 983/2333 under jagadhatripur mouja owner has violated the norms as per prescribed under odisha town planning and improvement trust for (planning and building standards) rules of 2021 and the odisha town planning improvement trust act 1956. Patnaik said regarding this an explanation has been raised from the owner regarding the demarcation report of the plot within 7 days.

Patnaik has also argued the owners of all the commercial building to properly follow the norms and conditions made by the municipality failing which strict action will be taken.
