CISF Raises First-Ever All-Women Commando Unit.

In a historic step towards women empowerment and operational excellence, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has raised its first-ever all-women commando unit, paving the way for women to serve on the frontline of national security.

The inaugural batch of 30 women personnel is currently undergoing an intensive eight-week commando training at RTC Barwaha in Madhya Pradesh. The training curriculum includes Quick Reaction Team (QRT) duties, live-fire drills, endurance runs, rappelling, slithering, jungle survival tactics, and a 48-hour confidence-building exercise.

As part of the first phase, 100 women commandos will be trained. The expansion plan envisions induction of 2,400 additional women personnel in 2026, in line with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) target of achieving 10% women’s strength in the force. The initiative marks a giant leap for Nari Shakti, gender parity, and frontline preparedness, reinforcing CISF’s commitment to safeguard the nation with courage, competence, and inclusivity.
