Governor Haribabu Kambhampati Praises Aroma of Koraput Coffee During District Visit.

Odisha Governor Dr.Haribabu Kambhampati arrived on a day-long visit to Koraput district today.Upon landing at Jeypore Airport, he was accorded a warm welcome by the District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, DIG Kanwar Vishal Singh,SP Rohit Verma and Jeypore Sub Collector Akkavaram Sashya Reddy were present to receive him.Soon after his arrival, the Governor visited the Koraput Coffee Board, where he interacted with local tribal farmers engaged in coffee cultivation.

Officials apprised him of the unique identity Koraput coffee has carved out globally.Nearly 90 percent of the cultivable land in Koraput district is under coffee farming, making it the backbone of the local economy.The Governor praised the farmers for becoming self-reliant through coffee cultivation and expressed satisfaction after tasting the aromatic brew of Koraput coffee. Discussions were also held on expanding the coffee market at both national and international levels.

At the Special Circuit House in Koraput,Governor Kambhampati held a detailed meeting with NALCO officials, seeking updates on the company’s growth and its proposed upgrade from a Navratna to Maharatna enterprise. He also stressed the need for the public sector company to focus on the overall development of the surrounding areas.

The Governor later interacted with the officials of Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital, underlining its importance as the lifeline of healthcare services in the undivided Koraput district.He emphasized the urgent need to strengthen infrastructure and ensure quality healthcare delivery for the people of the region.Further he met representatives of COTS mudra Beneficiaries Indian Red Cross Society and also held discussions with noted personalities including Sid Rani Harshita Priyadarshini Mohanty and Padma Shri awardee Govardhan Panika.
