Empowering the Skies: BSF Air Wing Trains and Awards New Flight Engineers
BSF Air Wing Achieves Another Milestone: In-House Ab-Initio Training of Flight Engineers Successfully Complete.

The Border Security Force (BSF) Air Wing has achieved yet another remarkable milestone by successfully completing its in-house ab-initio training programme for Flight Engineers. This significant accomplishment reflects the BSF’s growing self-reliance and technical proficiency in aviation operations.

A total of five trainee Flight Engineers, including one Mahila Sub-Ordinate Officer, successfully completed the rigorous training course. They were awarded their Flying Brevets by the Director General, BSF, during a grand Valedictory Function held at the BSF Air Wing Headquarters in New Delhi.
The ab-initio training programme was designed and conducted entirely within the BSF, showcasing the organization’s capability to train its own personnel to the highest professional standards. The comprehensive course covered various aspects of aircraft systems, flight operations, safety protocols, and technical maintenance — ensuring that the newly inducted Flight Engineers are fully equipped to undertake operational responsibilities.

During the ceremony, the Director General, BSF congratulated the successful trainees and commended the efforts of the BSF Air Wing’s instructional and technical teams for their dedication and professionalism. He emphasized that the induction of skilled Flight Engineers would further enhance the operational efficiency and preparedness of the BSF’s aviation assets, which play a crucial role in border management, logistics, and emergency operations.
The BSF Air Wing continues to play a vital role in extending air support to the Force’s deployments in remote and difficult terrains, contributing significantly to national security and humanitarian missions.
This achievement underscores BSF’s commitment to self-reliance, technical excellence, and gender inclusivity — marking another proud chapter in the Force’s journey.
